You may be wondering why you need a website if you’re successfully growing your business through other avenues such as posting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Or, if you’re thinking about starting a business and want to know the best way to let others know about your new venture, then this post is for you!
Social media has a lot of benefits: millions of people in one place, the ability to post pictures of your products or tell people about your services, connecting with potential customers, the ease of customers sharing inform a turn about your business and much more. But…what would happen to your thriving business if Facebook decided to drastically change their algorithm or Instagram chooses to display business posts differently and your target market doesn’t see your posts as easily? Your income is affected immediately and it could be disastrous for your business.
All of us are at the mercy of the various social media platforms’ changing privacy policies, algorithms and other changes and know how frustrating it can be when we miss our friend’s posts because Instagram decides when we get to see what we want…or if we get to see it at all.
This may sound like a lot of gloom and doom or like I don’t love instagram as much as the next person. That is absolutely false! I love IG and check it a bit too much throughout the day, if I am honest with myself! But I also have to admit that while it’s really easy to post on these sitesites, I don’t have any control over my content once it’s posted there. The only think I truly have complete control over is my website. And I don’t mean a free website like Wix or Weebly, I mean a website on a domain you purchase.
You work hard for your business and you don’t want it to be lost because you’ve given your control over to another business owner. You own your products and the ability to perform services, you should truly own the website it is displayed on as well.
The good news is that isn’t not that hard to do! You can easily create a WordPress (.org, not .com) site in a couple of hours and you’ll have the peace of mind that your business is protected.
Even more good news: if you don’t know where to start, I can help! If you want to do it yourself, email me and I can help you get started. If you would prefer for me to handle the creation of your site. For more information, click here.

Best wishes to you + your business,
